Meet the Doctors: Ross Goldstein, MD
How, when and why did you decide to pursue a career in medicine?
I have wanted to be a physician since elementary school, finding inspiration from my father and grandfather, both successful physicians, who had extraordinary positive influence on the lives of many individuals. As a psychology major in college, I predominantly studied biopsychology and neuroscience. This neuroscience interest led me to spend two summers during college performing research in neuroradiology. During medical school and residency, my interest in radiology and subsequently neuroradiology flourished.
What do you like most about your job?
As a radiologist, I am often the first member of the care team to suggest a diagnosis for a patient, leading to earlier treatments. Assisting health care providers with obtaining a focused examination for patients is especially rewarding. I commonly discuss patients’ examinations with referring providers so that we can combine all of our knowledge to come up with a diagnosis and improve the health of patients.
What is your favorite way to spend free time?
Living in Colorado allows me to enjoy the outdoors all year round. I especially enjoy playing tennis, skiing and hiking. Denver also provides great venues for experiencing live music.
What do you like most about working at RIA?
Radiology Imaging Associates is one of the premier radiology groups in the nation. Collaboration is common in neuroradiology to assist in the diagnosis of complicated cases that leads to improvement of patient care. Having access to state-of-the-art radiology professionals in all aspects of radiology is crucial to improving patient diagnosis and care.
