Meet the Doctors: Woodie Hopper, MD

Meet Woodie Hopper, MD. Dr. Woodie Hopper is President, RIA & Managing Partner, Medical Imaging of Colorado.

How, when, and why did you decide to pursue a career in medicine?

I knew I wanted to work in medicine since elementary school. I have always loved science and been curious about how the human body works. Later on, I realized that I wanted to have a career where I could devote a lifetime of directly helping others to increase their quality and length of life.

What do you like most about your job?

There are many things I like about my job. I get to work in a collegial atmosphere internally (staff and radiologists) and externally (referring providers) as a consultant. I enjoy spending a lot of time in subspecialty doing what I am good at and what I like to do.

What is your favorite way to spend free time?

I am definitely a fan of the outdoors. Running, climbing and hiking are three of my favorite outdoor activities. Reading is something else I enjoy. My family is very important to me, and I spend as much time with them as possible. Traveling is also a favorite activity.

What do you like most about working at RIA?

RIA has given me the opportunity to practice what I was trained to do from a subspecialty standpoint (and do what I like to do). I appreciate both my collegial partners and business staff that I collaborate with on a daily basis. Also, let’s not forget: RIA IS BASED IN COLORADO!!! That is a huge perk of working at RIA.
