Meet Tony Brown, MD, Vascular and Interventional Radiologist

How, when and why did you decide to pursue a career in medicine?

I always had an interest in the medical field, but I realized my passion for innovation could be put to use in really big ways. I attended medical school at Loyola University in Chicago (go Ramblers!), and was able to come back to Colorado to complete my Diagnostic Radiology residency at The University of Colorado, Denver, where I was Chief Resident. My fellowship in interventional radiology at Medical College of Wisconsin really shaped my interest in cutting edge cancer therapy.

What do you like most about your job?

Traditional treatments don’t always work for everyone, and I’m grateful to be able to offer cutting-edge techniques like ablation, embolization and cement stabilization to treat painful soft tissue and bone tumors that have not responded to conventional therapies.

What is your favorite way to spend free time (away from work)?

I’m a proud Colorado native, and it’s still my favorite place to be, even when I have time off. I have a beautiful wife, two children and a lot of family in town and we love to spend time together.

What do you like most about working at RIA?

At RIA I’m able to keep improving and continue learning from my peers, colleagues and especially my patients. I believe my partners at RIA are some of the most compassionate and technically excellent doctors in the region. It is humbling to work with such a great group.
